Next Gen Performance Magnum T-56 6-Speed Transmission Kit (2005–2014 Mustang GT/Boss/GT500)

Known unofficially as the S197 Magnum, this new 6-speed kit features:

  • Direct-shift extension housing to eliminate the semi-remote factory shifter

  • Slip-yoke style interface for an easy upgrade to a robust 1-piece driveshaft

  • Torque Capacity: 700 lb-ft, ideal for replacing fragile factory Getrag MT-82 transmissions, TR3650, and TR6060 units

  • Multiple Gear Ratio Options:

    • Option 1: 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th = 2.66, 1.78, 1.30, 1.00, .80, .63

    • Option 2: 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th = 2.97, 2.10, 1.46, 1.00, .80, .62

Compatibility:

  • Transmission works with OEM slave cylinder on 2005–2010 GT, 2007–2009 GT500, and 2011+ GT/Boss

  • 2010+ GT500 requires different slave cylinder (listed in options)

  • 2011+ GT/Boss requires the Speed Calibration Box (added to package cost)

  • Aftermarket flywheel required for 2007+ GT500 and 2011+ GT/Boss; recommended for all applications

Clutch Options:

  • Spec Stage 2+: Bolt-on cars under 500 HP

  • Spec Stage 3+: Power adder cars under 750 HP (better engagement, lower pedal effort)

  • McLeod RST: Stock to power adder cars under 750 HP

  • McLeod RXT: Cars 600–1000 HP

  • McLeod RXT 1200: Cars up to 1200 HP

Flywheel Options:

  • Lightened & Billet Steel: Ideal for street cars

  • Aluminum: Maximum performance option

  • Spec Flywheels must be used with Spec clutches

  • McLeod Flywheels must be used with McLeod clutches

Driveshaft Safety Loop:

  • Required for drag strip tech or extra safety

  • Easily bolts onto 2005+ Mustang GT, 2012–2013 Boss Mustang, and 2007+ Shelby GT500 equipped with the Magnum XL T-56 upgrade
